The other morning I woke up and immediately started scrolling through my Instagram feed (who am I kidding, I do this every morning…). I came across a beautiful picture of a smoothie bowl. Inspired, I decided I would make one for breakfast.
This recipe is adapted from the original inspiration over at Joyous Health (if you’re not following Joy, you are seriously missing out on some great healthy tips and recipes!) Before these “smoothie bowls” became a trend, I would often put my smoothie in a bowl/large mug and eat it with a spoon. I was cool before it was cool. It tasted better this way, for some reason. I think it’s cause I could trick my brain into thinking I was eating ice cream.
Want to make your own blueberry ice cream, I mean, smoothie bowl? You will need:

- 1 cup blueberries
- 1/2 cup strawberries
- 1 banana
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 tbsp coconut butter
- 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla)
- Almond milk to desired consistency
- Combine all ingredients and blend!
- Garnish with oat flakes, granola, coconut or blueberries.
Mmmm…I love smoothie bowls! This recipe looks killer and I’ll definitely give it a whirl. Thanks for sharing!
